Kyoung Update: New York

Greetings!

I’d like to invite you to an upcoming workshop production of HEARTBREAK/INDIA, a new play with dance directed by Snehal Desai and choreographed by Yin Yue. The play will be performed this weekend, from April 15-17 at Columbia University’s Schapiro Studio.

Set behind the scenes of the United Nations, HEARTBREAK/INDIA exposes the secret affairs of Rajiv, an Indian-American diplomat negotiating a Global, Non-Violence, Peace Resolution and through biting, political satire and contemporary dance, questions the false promises of world peace and gay love.

HEARTBREAK/INDIA features a multi-cultural cast including James Chen*, Stephen Hadeed Jr., Tony Javed, Junior Mendez, Shetal Shah*, and Julian Stetkevych* and our production team includes Chris Barlow (Sound Design), Elizabeth Barrett Groth (Costume Design), Chuan-Chi Chan (Lighting Design), Yoon Young Choi (Set Design), and Steven Rowe (Stage Manager). Schapiro Studio is located at 615 W. 115th Street (between Broadway and Riverside) and performances will be held this Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 PM, and matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 3 PM.

You can read more about the play on my website and an interview on Columbia’s VIP Season of New Plays. Admission is free and tickets can be reserved via email at [email protected].

Peace,

Kyoung

PS: James Chen has been called in for his recurring role in Law and Order: SVU, so on Friday, April 15th, I’m stepping in the show. Gulp.
