THE INDIA PLAYS @ The Bushwick Starr

Greetings!

Kyoung’s Pacific Beat invites you to a studio presentation of THE INDIA PLAYS, our new work-in-progress. THE INDIA PLAYS is a diptych of two new plays, HEARTBREAK/INDIA and THE DIAMOND TRADE, which will be presented as a single, live performance that engages with diverse artists and audiences in a performative investigation that addresses toxic masculinity and the limitations of the patriarchy.

We will host two performances of excerpts of THE INDIA PLAYS on Friday, Oct. 28th at 3:00pm-4:30pm and Saturday, Oct. 29th at 2:00pm-3:30pm. We especially welcome men to participate in the development of this project, which will be facilitated by female, queer, trans, and male artists of color. Our presentations are free of charge and will take place at the Bushwick Starr Annex (207 Starr Street, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn).

To RSVP: please email [email protected] with your name and number of tickets requested. We will confirm your reservations within 48 hours and donations are suggested at the door.

THE INDIA PLAYS are written and directed by Kyoung H. Park and feature an ensemble including Veracity Butcher, Jordan Ho , Chris Ignacio, Georgia Lifsher, Marisol Rosa-Shapiro, Will Shaw, Nandita Shenoy, and Jessica Weinstein.
